Little Rock, Arkansas to Bowling Green, Kentucky – light rain and highs in the 50s. Through eastern Arkansas, middle April continues, the redbuds the surest sign. As we drove northeast to Memphis and Nashville, the redbuds changed from full bloom to just an early deep purple. At Bowling Green, hollyhock foliage is one to two feet tall, daffodils and pears are full, but things are not as well along – early Middle Spring (early April) instead of middle Middle Spring. The whole trip along the 35th Parallel since Gallup, New Mexico has been a drive that lies between three and five weeks ahead of Yellow Springs, Ohio.
