THE OCTOBER S.A.D. INDEX
Seasonal affective disorders become more frequent in October as the length of the night increases and chances for mild weather decrease. Although cloud cover is ordinarily not a major factor in S.A.D. during middle autumn, the odds for completely overcast conditions rise from 1 in 5 up to 2 in 5 by the end of the month. Although the South is generally sunnier than the North, the percentage of change in each region is similar.
