Poor Will’s Almanack for 2004 gives weather overviews and weather history for each week of the year. It also includes a phenological list of events in nature for most days of the year in the lower Midwest and at average locations along the 40th parallel. The 2004 Almanack contains average first-bloom dates for hundreds of common wildflowers. Seasonal essays by W.L. Felker introduce each month’s information, and reader stories bring the monthly entries to a close.
Poor Will’s Almanack for 2005 provides a description of weather associated with each high-pressure system of the year, gives a weekly description of events in nature, and contains a listing of average blooming times for trees, shrubs, wildflowers and garden perennials. W.L. Felker’s seasonal essays and Almanack Literature are included
with each month’s entries.
Poor Will’s Almanack for 2006 contains a weather outlook for every day of the lower Midwestern year, each entry offering odds for heat and cold, clouds, rain, snow and sun. Of course, essays and Americana complement astronomical and meteorological data.
Poor Will's Almanack for 2007 contains astronomical data, new essays by W. L. Felker and Americana by Almanack readers. A special section ("When - Then") offers phenological information for each month of the year. A sample of the 2007 phenology:
"When forsythia blooms, plant your sweet corn for early harvest. Put in your lettuce and peas, too."
