The blizzard arrived on the 7th, and the weather was cold for three days. Now, the snow is melting quickly, and the purple and gold crocus are in full bloom by the back pond. As I looked for the koi fingerlings (which did not appear), I saw a honeybee near the crocus. In the front garden, snowdrops are opening. Jean says that Chris has seen towhees this month.
And Casey called this afternoon about 5:15. First he saw four buzzards sitting in their roost on President Street. Then about 5:30, he called again to say the buzzards were arriving as he spoke, that he had counted 18 already, and that they were sailing in from high in the east on “some thermal” hardly moving their wings at all.
