Snowdrops are fading now in the east garden, and snow crocus are done. Katy’s aconites were gone yesterday, probably days earlier. Several yellow daffodils have opened on Dayton Street, and our daffodil is completely unraveled. Mid-season crocus are in full bloom now throughout town. One small red tulip by the pond is open. Snow-on-the-mountain is emerging, its leaves less than an inch long. This is the cusp of the season now, the torturously slow buildup to middle spring has finally tipped into fulfillment.
