Stella d’oro foliage pacing the other day lily leaves. Lungwort with fresh leaves and first buds. Low honeysuckle branches leafing. Cardinals loud throughout the morning.

Driving to the Ohio River about four in the afternoon: Just a hint of green to the undergrowth, the roadside grass still dull. In Cincinnati, a sudden change in the honeysuckle and silver olive undergrowth. Roadside daffodils and forsythia bushes were in full bloom.
